• ELIGIBILITY
Ages 8 and up + Adults
Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
Proficiency (Intermediate to Advanced levels):
Violins should be studying in O’Connor Method Book III or IV and be familiar with material in Books I & II
Violas & Cellos should be studying in O’Connor Method Book II and be familiar with material in Book I
Basses should have completed two or more years of study on bass
Reading: Music reading is required for some electives
Students must bring their own instrument, as no instruments will be provided.
• DAILY ACTIVITIES (9:00 am - 6:00 pm *3:00pm - 6:00pm optional)
Note: Regular classes end at 2:50pm. From 3:00pm - 6:00pm, daily All Camp Orchestra, Recital, and Jam Session are optional. *Underage students not participating in optional events will need to be picked up by their chaperone during optional events. Children age 11 and under are required to have a chaperone present during the optional events between 3:00pm-6:00pm*
Daily Activities consist of:
1 Group Class on O’Connor Method material
1 Master Class on material of choice
2 Electives for the week from the following choices. Choose a 3rd and 4th as back ups:
Orchestra A (open to all instruments - must read music)
Dancing (dance steps to the various American genres)
Chamber Music (open to all instruments - must read music)
Write Your Own Tune (open to all instruments - must read music)
Chording & Chopping (open to all instruments)
Improvisation for Violins (violins only)
Improvisation for Violas (violas only)
Improvisation for Cellos (cellos only)
Bluegrass Fiddling (violins only)
Texas Contest Fiddling (violins only)
Jazz/Swing (open to all instruments)
How to Jam (small group - open to all instruments)
Mandolin (some experience necessary, bring your own instrument)
Guitar (some experience necessary, bring your own instrument)
1 Free Period (used for jamming, practicing, exploring, resting, socializing)
All Camp Orchestra (optional, but highly encouraged!)
Student Recital (optional, but highly encouraged!)
Jam Session (optional, but highly encouraged!)
*Your four choices will be taken into consideration for the final scheduling, which can not be changed*
• GUITAR & MANDOLIN CLASSES FOR CHAPERONES, PARENTS & SIBLINGS
Parents, chaperones, grandparents and siblings of registered campers may join the mandolin and/or guitar group classes for an extra fee of $50 per class for each person for the week. You may register for both classes. No instruments will be provided. No refunds after July 1, 2017.
• CONCERTS/EVENTS
Check in begins at 5:00pm, Orientation and Faculty Introduction at 6:00pm on Sunday July 30, 2017

Electives Concert Thursday August 3, 2017 at 7:30pm featuring teacher-led class groups
Finale Concert Friday August 4, 2017 at 7:30pm with the O'Connors, students, teacher trainees and faculty

Registration Fee $ 50.00 ($100 by July 1, 2017)
Tuition $550.00
Ticket for Finale Concert (featuring all students and faculty) Friday August 4, 2017 at 7:30pm: $10
Important Note: Registrations are not valid until registration fee and tuition are paid in full. Enrollments operate on a first come first serve basis. There will be no refunds after July 1, 2017. Registration fee is $100 by July 1, 2017.
• LODGING/MEALS
Lodging by individual arrangement: Hotel recommendation information is available on the FAQ page. Meals are not provided at the O'Connor Method Camp NYC. Underage students can either be picked up by their own chaperone during lunch time or will need to bring a lunch to eat in the Richmond Room of the Turtle Bay Music School. The Richmond Room will be available daily for all students bringing their lunch.
• WHAT TO BRING
Students should bring a music stand, their instrument(s), their O'Connor Method Books, lunch if they plan to eat at the school, and know their individual schedules given at Orientation.
